My name is Christy and I didn’t self identify as a geek until the early 2000s when I went my first convention, DragonCon. There was no going back. I’d found my people and was drawn to the open, enthusiastic culture that was an extension of all the things that made my childhood great . As I became immersed in the geek world, my identity slowly became that one facet. I seemed to lose a part of myself. I love being a geek girl. I am more than a geek girl. A convention going, marathon training, Battlestar Galactica watching, all sorts of book reading, makeup loving, gaming noobie, always adventuring, comic book reading, sometimes RPG playing, taco eating, craft making, beach loving, mostly vegan geek girl.
